Just finished a three year project to study in detail each of the 37 plays attributed to William Shakespeare. This involved watching online performances while following the transcripts.
My guide is intended as an introduction to all 37 plays. I am my own target audience as my knowledge was limited to the three or four I studied at school.
I can now safely say that ‘I know Shakespeare’ and it is an opportunity for the reader to improve and possibly complete their knowledge of some of the finest works of English literature.
It includes a one page synopsis/review of each play, with historical background where appropriate. There is also a concise introduction which provides background information, chronology, a ‘memory jogger’ for all 37, and a quiz just for fun.
I am hoping that my guide will increase understanding and appreciation of the bard’s well known and less well known plays.
